4. Budget

Travel costs are included for the field study and may vary from this estimate depending on the locations and extent of the study:

Travel

1.    Fuel for field study transportation. Assuming 6 (2-day, 1-night) trips originating from Gainesville to other Florida locations, 400 miles round trip, cost of diesel is $4.25/gallon, 8 miles/gallon = 6 x 400 / 8 x $4.25 = $1,275

2.    Per Diem and Shelter:

a.    2 people x 6 days x $46/day per diem = $552

b.    2 people x 6 nights @ $145/night  = $870

Total travel budget  = $2697

Student salary

200 hours of student time are dedicated to the aluminum screen enclosure fastener corrosion testing. 300 hours of student time are dedicated to the field study roofing system fastener corrosion testing.

Materials and Supplies

This includes acquisition of fasteners for testing, supplies needed to conduct the corrosion testing, and supplies needed for the field study.
